April 30, 2016

Hello there everyone! I have been tired this whole week! Yesterday, Elder Bullecer was like, "Bro, go to sleep, you have huge bags under your eyes!" I was like, "Thanks man!"
This week we had our Leadership Counsel with President! We found out that Elder Zeballos from the Seventy is coming to our mission to do some special things to make us the example for Central America. They will be recording our meetings and a couple of missionaries (not me) for special things. It´s kind of like another one of those Preach my Gospel videos, but not as fancy. It will be interesting!

I went to Migration last week to make an ID appointment, and the lady there rejected us because she was "too busy". So I was like "okay, fine!" So I called the Lawyers! I said, "Look, I am not working on her schedule! She is supposed to help make these missionaries LEGAL in this country and she is preventing it from happening. Can you please make some changes in the Appointments?" and they DID!!! So know I am making special appointments for the missionaries. I just made things a lot easier for the next secretary. They had been working with the same lady for years!! And they always had problems, so I was just like, "To heck with it, we will work more efficiently." Speaking of Migration, I think that I have changed what I want to study. I feel like the Lord has blessed me with the ability to learn Spanish and work with migration really easy. I feel like I need to work with something in this field. I am going to be sitting down with my lawyers and I will be asking them what requirements are needed and things like this. I will be asking Lissa (the lawyer), to give me a recommendation letter so that I can use it when I get home. Let me know your thoughts!

Thank you for all that you all do! I can´t wait to talk on Mother´s Day! It will be my last time before coming back home to Utah! Enjoy it! ha, ha It will be at 7! I love you all! Have a great week!!!

¡¡¡¡¡Buenas Tardes mi querida familia!!!!

This week was pretty flippin' crazy! Changes week!
Monday and Tuesday were crazy because the NEWS came from Guatemala and Mexico. They are funny. They all said, "Do you have family that are Mexicans, because your Spanish is really good!?" ha, ha It was funny;)
The Lawyers came and helped me out with the things I need to better the cedula process! It was good:)
Slowly we will be getting better with migration stuff. Actually, if president doesn´t decide to keep me in the office the rest of my mission, I will be training the new secretary the next change. But we will see!
On Wednesday I didn´t get to go to the temple...President said we had gone in the last month so we couldn´t...It hurt really bad, and I wanted to talk to President, but all I did was Obey. On Thursday I went to the airport at 4:00! Woke up at 2:00 and dropped off the old missionaries to go home. Every time I go its just like a fast forward from 5 months from now. crazy right? Pretty soon it will be my turn, but I don't want to think about that! ha, ha

Today I went to San Jose and Bought some new white shirts and ties. The color difference in the 2 are TERRIBLE! ha, ha its so funny. Costa Rica is really expensive so you can imagine how much it costed...he, he;)
This week will be more interesting!

Actually, we were contacting in a place called Santa Teresa. And we didn't have any success. We prayed beforehand to have a miracle and to find a family that are willing to hear and follow the gospel. We decided to stop and get a little snack and the Pulpería. While we were eating some cookies, a man with tattoos walks out and starts smoking. I had this weird feeling that I should talk to him. I new it was the spirit. My spiritual impression are things that I know I need to do. I kind of blocked it off a bit, but I didn't let it pass. He started to walk away and I said "AMIGO" he turned and looked. Then smiled! I said, "We are Representatives of Jesus Christ, and we are here to share a message with you and your family." He said, "Ok, come with me to my house." He smelt like smoke and beer as we followed him to his house. We walked into his house and there was a woman, his mother, who stared at us like she had seen a ghost. We introduced ourselves and she said, please sit down, I will make you something to eat. Alan (the son) and Rosario (the mom), prepared a huge meal for us including Chinese noodles, water, and bread. In the middle of eating, Rosario says "You 2 want to know something weird?" we are like "whats up?" She said "When Alan left the house, I got a very worried feeling over me. I didn't know if he would be coming back or not." Then she said, "So I said a prayer to God to have angels watch over him and bring him back home to me. And then when I heard to door open...I saw Alan, and 2 white shirts and Ties, and smiles on their faces!"
I have a very powerful testimony of Prayer, and of Spiritual Impressions. They smallest things can become something much larger. Just imagine what would have happened if we hadn´t followed that impression. They are now planning on coming to church this Sunday and want to make some changes in their lives. I know that Heavenly Father is preparing his children.

I hope that you all have a great week! I will send some pictures! I love you all!!!

Buenas Tardes mi Querido Familia!! ¿Como estan?
Conference was great right!? I had to watch it in Spanish, so I didn't understand 100% of it. This week I will be watching the rest online. I loved Elder Anderson's and Elder Duncan´s talks!

This week we had our Mission Leadership Meeting. We focused a lot on how to bring more investigators to church. We talked about getting the members more involved in the work. The mission work is not for missionaries to try and find investigators to baptize. Something that Elder Duncan said a while back is "The members are the Finders, The missionaries are the teachers through the Spirit." We shouldn't be out in the road looking for investigators. We should be in the church all day long waiting for the members to bring us investigators that are chosen and ready to listen to the restored gospel.

During our Leadership meeting on Friday, we were talking about discipline and obedience, and President put me throughout the whole meeting to pass around quickly the microphone. He likes us all to be ALIVE and DYNAMIC so he puts me to do it because I run. ha,ha. During President's presentation, he randomly paused and said, "Look everyone, in a handful of years when you are watching General Conference and you all see a Red spot up in the General Authorities, you will all know who that is!" It was funny. I hope that wasn´t some profound prediction, or I´m in for it! ha,ha.

This next week, we will be going to the temple, AGAIN! I´m so excited! I almost have 5 months in Escazu and now I have 18 months in the mission. I have almost finished the time of a sister missionary! crazy right!?

I love you all! if you need anything, just let me know!!

HASTA LA PROXIMA SEMANA!!!!!
My comp found out that I was taking pics! hehe

Hermana Laboriel got mad at my companion and I for not having pictures of the family on our desks. Soo....we repented!! haha here you are!Inline image 1

Buenos Dias a todos!

This week we had Multi-Zone Meetings. And being the Secretary, I didn´t get to sit and enjoy myself...I got to run around with the Microphone! Fun right? ha,ha
President has been a little bit worried about the mission and baptisms, so he has received revelation to help out the mission. We learned a lot about Obedience and Discipline. We watched a video about a Japanese man that lived in Colombia for a while. He gave a very interesting capacitation about Discipline and how it is the key to success. The whole video was motivational and helped us out so much. Sadly, it´s only in Spanish! Sorry for you;) ha,ha

In 2 Weeks: I GET TO GO TO THE TEMPLE!! AGAIN! The Lord is blessing me with the opportunity to go to the temple so much! I love it! It is going to be so much fun!

Oh! Almost forgot HA,HA! Tomorrow we have a baptism!! His name is Ricardo. We call him Richard because he speaks English. He works for Intel here in Costa Rica. The first month we were teaching him in English! It was cool! Now he has chosen to get baptized tomorrow!! Wish him luck!

I love you all! I hope you all have a great week and a great General Conference! BE WATCHING for KEVIN R DUNCAN!! He is the area president for Central America. he will be speaking! Him and I talked one day when he came to my ward. He asked me about my family and he thought it was cool that I am a twin!

Love you all!! Have a great week!!!
